Popular Science Lecture by Dr. J.M. Kenoyer
The Centre organized a popular science lecture on Indian Scientific Heritage on 7th January 2010 for the benefit of students teachers. The lecture was delivered by Dr. J.M. Kenoyer, an eminent Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin Madison, USA. He is one of the leading authorities on the ancient Indus Valley and has been excavating with HARP at the ancient Indus city of Harappa for over thirteen years. He is currently co-director of the project. He speaks several South Asian languages fluently and has excavated ancient sites in Pakistan and India for almost twenty-five years. During his lecture he spoke about the scientific and technological aspect of Indus civilisation using PowerPoint presentation. He explained about the ring stones excavation at Pakistan which he did in the first week of January 2010. The lecture was followed by active interaction with students.
