Emerging Technologies Gallery
Have you ever wondered what your house will look like from space? Or whether you can ever see an image of your own heart which beats unceasingly to keep you alive? When you read of water shortages, have you ever contemplated if the water from our vast oceans can be made suitable for drinking? Can a fresh heart be grown in the lab to replace the damaged heart of an elder in the family, who has had a massive heart attack and is dying? Can frequent power outages in our cities ever become a thing of the past? What if we have a glass that doesn’t break when a shot put ball is dropped on it? Seems like empty fantasies? Not necessarily! The latest gallery of the Centre “ Emerging Technologies – A Look into the Future ” inaugurated on 21st July 2007 by the Honourable Union Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Shri Kapil Sibal , introduces you to a range of sunrise technologies which promise to change Human life in the coming decade.
